Kurt Walker is an independent filmmaker based in Toronto, ON. He makes films about connection, time, and obsolescence. His debut film, Hit 2 Pass (2014), received doclisboa’s Universidade Lusíada Award for Best International Competition Film. His 2022 film I Thought the World of You was described by Guy Maddin as “a truly beautiful lyrical essay” and later screened on MUBI.
Walker holds an MFA from York University and is an alumnus of the TIFF Filmmaker Lab. He is also a film editor, having edited Sophy Romvari’s acclaimed debut feature Blue Heron, which premiered at the 78th Locarno Film Festival and was subsequently distributed by Janus Films.
